Bitcoin price versus leverage
Price alone tells you what happened. Price plotted against open interest tells you who made it happen — new leverage entering, or existing positions being forced out.

liveBiggest 24-hour moves in the top 100
Sorted by absolute 24-hour change, stablecoins excluded. A rally carried by two or three names looks very different from one where the whole board is green — the market heatmap shows which one this is.

Twelve dashboards, all live, all free
Each one answers a single question and shows its own working. No dashboard here needs an account, and none of them phone home — your browser talks straight to the exchanges.

Half of the questions people ask about an exchange are not "is it good" but "is it available where I live, and will my bank let me". We answer those with current fee schedules, KYC tiers and country-by-country access rules.
Frequently asked questions
Is CryptoData.today free to use?
Yes. Every dashboard on this site is free and open, with no account, no email wall and no trial. The data is fetched directly by your browser from public exchange and on-chain APIs, so there is nothing to sign up for.
How often does the data update?
It depends on the metric. Prices and the ticker tape refresh every 20–60 seconds, derivatives data (open interest, funding, long/short) every 45 seconds to 2 minutes, market-cap and dominance data every 3 minutes, and daily series such as the Fear & Greed Index once per day. Each dashboard shows its own last-updated timestamp.
Where does the data come from?
Public APIs: Binance spot and futures, CoinGecko and CoinPaprika for market capitalisation, DefiLlama for stablecoin supply and chain TVL, mempool.space for Bitcoin fees, and alternative.me for the Fear & Greed Index. Every source and formula is listed on the methodology page.
Is the liquidation heatmap showing real liquidation orders?
No — and no free tool can, because exchanges do not publish the location of individual stop-outs. Our heatmap is a model: it estimates where leveraged positions were likely opened using traded volume, open interest changes and the exchange leverage tiers, then projects the price at which each cohort would be liquidated. The full formula is on the methodology page. Treat it as a map of probable liquidity, not a ledger of real orders.
Do you recommend an exchange?
We publish data, not portfolio advice. Where we do point at a trading venue, it is CEX.IO, because it is one of the few long-running exchanges whose regulatory position you can independently verify: it is a FinCEN-registered Money Services Business and holds money transmitter licences in more than 40 US states under NMLS ID 1804170. Our exchange reviews cover the alternatives, and you should check any venue's register yourself before you deposit.
